Abstract   A female patient who had huge right mediastinal mass with dyspnea, cough and sweating is described. Other findings were anemia, leukocytosis, increased ESR, SGOT, SGPT and LDH. Mediastinotomy showed unresectable, friable huge mass in the right mediastinum and histologic examination revealed giant lymph node hyperplasia of the plasmacell type. She was treated with radiation therapy and prompt palliation of symptom and progressive decrease in the size of tumor were procuced. Radiation therapy may be an alternative form of the treatment for the patient with unresectable giant lymph node hyperplasia of the plasma cell type.
